SUNYLA Snapshot for November 16, 2011 at FIT

The early morning portion of the meeting was devoted to an open discussion regarding the Distinguished Librarian Rank and the role of Librarians in faculty governance and other campus wide roles.

Congratulations are in order for Constantia Constantinou, director of the Stephen B. Luce Library at SUNY Maritime, who was appointed to the rank of Distinguished Librarian earlier this month.

Constantinou is only the fifth librarian in SUNY to be appointed to the Distinguished Librarian rank; past recipients of the appointment are Meredith Butler (Albany), Cerise Oberman (Plattsburgh), Carla List-Handley (Plattsburgh), and Trudi Jacobson (Albany).

The March meeting of the SUNYLA Council will be March 15, 2012, (a Thursday) at Empire State College's Center for Distance Learning in Saratoga Springs.

The 3Ts 2012 conference (March 16, 2012, in Albany) has put out a call for proposals.
